Shabbat

SHABBAT AT TBE

FRIDAY EVENING:

5:30 pm Tot Shabbat: A lively, engaging way to welcome Shabbat every week, for tots (0 - 5 years old) and their parents! Songs, stories, Shabbat blessings led by Rabbi Levy, Cantor Annie Rose, and Middle School/High School musical assistants!

6 pm Family Dinner for all: Our weekly macaroni and cheese, fish sticks, applesauce, and abundant salad bar. Delicious! We invite our tot families to enjoy dinner following Tot Shabbat, and our Sukkat Shalom families to start their Friday evenings with dinner, before attending our 6:30 service.

6:30 Sukkat Shalom: A gentle service of songs and prayers designed for post-tot Shabbat children and their parents. Our service includes a group Torah reading and story. Led by Rabbi Levy and Cantor Anne Rose.

6:30 Shira: A lively song session for tots and their parents, following dinner every Friday night!

7 pm Popsicle Oneg Shabbat for all: Every week following Sukkat Shalom and Shira, popsicles for all!

7:30 Sanctuary Services: A weekly Shabbat service using the new reform prayerbook, Mishkan T’fillah. Once a month this is a family service. Services often include guest speakers.

7:30 Middle School Services: Once each month in the chapel.

SATURDAY MORNING

8:50-9:25 am Saturday Morning Torah Study: Each Saturday morning either of our resident Rabbis will be available before Shabbat service to teach the Torah portion for the week.

10 am Sanctuary Service: Shabbat morning congregational service on weekends when we celebrate a bar or bat mitzvah.

SUMMER SERVICES:

Friday, July 5 - Friday, August 16
During July and August, Lay-led services are a TBE tradition. It’s also an excellent opportunity for congregants to learn more about our services and to serve our temple.
Various members of our community lead services, give a d’var Torah, and/or lead singing. There is no Torah service.
Training will be given to anyone interested in leading. Service leaders do not need to lead music; music leaders and service leaders can be paired, if requested. Often, couples or friends lead together. For more information, please contact Marty Ludington at mludington@albion.edu. TBE thanks you!
