Caring Community is facilitated by Rabbi Lisa Delson, the Director of Congregational Services, with the assistance of congregant leadership, who are committed to making TBE an inclusive and participatory community. Caring Community groups are for TBE members only unless otherwise mentioned. For more information about any of the following groups, please call 665-4744.

The Caring Community program provides a congregation-wide opportunity to serve fellow congregants in times of joy and sorrow.

 Our Caring Community Groups:

Bikkur Cholim- The Jewish tradition of visiting the sick or elderly. Congregants visit TBE members and/or their relatives at home, in the hospital, or the nursing home.

Generations After - A group comprised of family members of those who survived the Holocaust

New Beginnings - A group for those who are choosing or have chosen Judaism, provides support and continuing learning opportunities.

Nachamu - Conducts shiva services for fellow congregants. Nachamu has created a comprehensive bereavement guide for the TBE community.

Healing, Spirituality, and Meditation - This group explores Jewish spirituality and meditation offering classes and retreats.

Caregiving Support for Adult Children - Ongoing support group for those who take care of elderly relatives either in town or long distance.  We currently have a group who meets to discuss caregiving for relatives who live out of town.  This group is open to new members, and a group taking care of individuals in the area are welcome to contact Rabbi Delson about forming a new group.

Caring Community Volunteer Corps - Provides support and connection within the TBE community during times of joy and sorrow, and offers meals and rides. If you are in need of this type of support or are interested in volunteering in this way, please contact Rabbi Delon.

Women's Cancer Survivor Support Group - Offers support to TBE members and organizes donations to UM Cancer Center. We do not currently have an active group, if you are interested in forming a new group or would like to be a part of one, please contact Rabbi Delson.
