Youth

"Throughout my time in TBE's youth groups, I have been part of a community, met lots of friends, and had a place to practice leadership skills that will help me throughout the rest of my life.- Sarah Shriberg

Temple Beth Emeth prioritizes creating opportunities for youth K-12 at TBE to have fun and learn through social activities. Our youth groups allow time for our kids to be themselves while developing their sense of Jewish identity. Contact tbe@templebethemeth.org with any questions.

TBE Youth Groups

Shorashim (Kinder-2nd) and Rishonim (3rd-5th)

Shorashim and Rishonim are Temple Beth Emeth’s elementary school youth groups. They give our youth the opportunity to socialize outside of religious school at social and/or social action events.

Kadima (6th-8th grade)

Kadima is Temple Beth Emeth’s middle school youth group. Kadima members can meet with the Youth Director to help plan programs. Kadima has programming about once a month and events vary from social events to social action events. Kadima students can also choose to be part of NFTY’s Junior Youth Group (JYG). In the past NFTY has had an annual JYG event. This gives our Kadima members an opportunity to learn about NFTY and meet other Jewish teens in the region.

AARTY (9th-12th grade)

AARTY (Ann Arbor Temple Youth) is Temple Beth Emeth’s high school youth group. AARTY holds many events throughout the year, from High Holy Day services, to social action events, and to social events. AARTY is led by the ALB (the AARTY Leadership Board). Board members plan and implement their own programs, guided by their advisor. For more information about AARTY please contact tbe@templebethemeth.org.

AARTY is affiliated with NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth). AARTY’s regional NFTY group is NFTY Michigan. NFTY Michigan provides members with opportunities to meet other Jewish high school students around Michigan!

TBE Families

TBE Families is a group providing social connections for our families with young children aged 0–9 (roughly).  Events include monthly playground meet-ups when weather permits, informal holiday celebrations, and other opportunities to gather without a formal program.  For more information, please join our Facebook Group.
