“Lunches with Love” is an initiative of Food Gatherers, Washtenaw County’s food bank, to provide children in need with bagged lunches. While the program runs throughout the year, lunches are particularly needed when school is not in session. Everyone can participate in this project - an individual, a family, a social group or a temple group. 

The Women of Temple Beth Emeth (WTBE) has set aside $360 to underwrite the cost of this project. They are looking for TBE members and/or their families to help make “Lunches with Love” a success. On Sunday, July 30 at 2 pm congregants will gather in the TBE Social Hall to decorate and assemble lunch bags. They welcome kids (elementary school and up and their parents as well as adults) to decorate and fill paper lunch bags. Feel free to bring along markers, crayons and ink stamps although a supply will be on hand. The decorated bags will then be filled with pre-purchased shelf stable items and delivered to Food Gathers the very next day.
